502 Reed Street / Built 1889
A seven room house built for $2,500 by a local realtor, Frederick Crane Harper. One of Port Townsend's more interesting characters. F.C. Harper had several businesses, held many positions in Port Townsend and was the cities last customs collector.
He was one of twenty-eight local realtors listed in the 1889 city directory. This was just one of many homes he had constructed in Port Townsend during the "boom era".

Later, Colonel McElroy a one time commander at Fort Worden, purchased the Harper House. His interior rennovations includedheavy woodworks in the style of the 1920's. The current owners received an award from the Port Townsend Historical Society for superior restoration which included a massive outdoor clean up of the property.
