Neighborhoods of Port Townsend

Bell Neighborhood Map and Photo

Bell Neighborhood
Near North Beach and  very close to town, this beutiful neighborhood has stately fir trees, natural landscaping, and wonderful non-motorized trails.  Most homes have wood siding, and a feel of rural craftsmanship along with a style of  the Northwest.
The CC& R's are short and sweet, and maintain lot size uniformity and prevent manufactured homes

Most homes are newer, built from the early 90's to 2005.  Homes range in price from mid $300,000's to low $700,000's and have ample size lots and lush mature gardens.  A beautiful place to come home to.

Morgan Hill

No cookie cutter look here. Each lot developed with custom homes, beginning with Victorians, many craftsman style from late 30's, bungalows from 40's and 50', ramblers from the 70's through 90's  and up to present time with remodels that amount to "scrape offs" on some choice water view lots.

Uptown
Also known as part of the "Original Townsite", Uptown is high above the wharf and waterfront of Port Townsend, and was chosen by the settler's (wives) as a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the waterfront with it's saloons, sailors, and ladies of the night.  It is interesting to note the sites that were chosen seemed to prioritize shelter and sunshine, rather than water views.

Uptown has it's own little retail center, anchored by Aldrich's market, one of the oldest markets in the Pacific Northwest, established in the late 1800's.  There are many good restaurants, retail shops, a bakery, theater, medical facilities, and churches all within a short distance from the residential neighborhoods.

Right across the street from Aldrich's market is the Port Townsend Recreation Center, which houses our Senior Center, Teen Recreation Center and is used for many public events such as art and craft shows, Town Hall meetings, yoga classes and more.

Rich in historical buildings, with easy access to downtown,  parks and beaches this area is a favorite of newcomers looking for property and a good place to call home.  Prices start in the mid $200,000's and go to just over $1,000,000 for some of the larger B & B's.  There is something here for everyone!

North Beach

A few steps from Fort Worden, this beautiful area has a natural and rural feel.   Easy paths to the beach and a large park add to the outdoor enjoyment of life here.  Developed over time with no planned projects, every home has a distinct feel and look.  Some have waterfront lots, but  most are just a stroll from the beach.  Very open and sunny with a lot of natural landscaping and not much fencing.

There are still a few undeveloped lots here, but they are going fast.  No CC&R's but the price of lots precludes putting up a tiny home or a manufactured home.

Homes vary in size and price from low $300's to high 900's.
Cape George

This beautiful little area is about 6 miles from Port Townend and is considered part of the Port Townsend community.  A waterfront development with CC&R's it consists of 3 different main divisions.  All share the wonderful amenities of marina, beaches, trails and clubhouse for a very nominal monthly fee, which includes water from a community well.

Cape George Colony

Located closest to Port Townsend, this area consists of homes of all sizes and designs.
Most are on 12,000+ sq. ft. lots to accommodate septic systems which gives a feeling of openess and space.  This is a very sunny area and has wonderful breezes coming from the water.

Prices range from high $200's to the 900's.

Cape George Village

Down the road a bit, this was primarily manufactured homes on large ocean view lots, but now there are more and more "stick built' homes being built so you will find a congenial mix of both.

Prices start at $119,000 for a nice 2 bedroom home.

Cape George Highlands

This is an area of larger parcels, with many homes on 2-3 acres.  A nice mix of manufatured and stick built, with lots of trees for privacy and greenbelt areas.
